Objectives:
1. Survey and inventerization of Butterfly diversity in the Sub-Alpine Forests of Himachal Pradesh.
2. Abundance and seasonal distribution patterns of Butterfly species.
3. Correlation of distribution patterns of selected species of butterflies with environmental parameters and their GIS mapping.

Achievement
In MoEF, Govt. of India, funded project “Ecological studies on distribution patterns and food plant resources of butterflies along altitudinal gradients in different ecosystems of Western Himalayan Sub-Alpine Forests of Himachal Pradesh” specimens of 34 species of butterfly fauna have been collected from selected sites of subalpine forests of Himachal Pradesh.
