Achievement:
Implemented the externally funded project entitled “Promotion of Medicinal Plants Cultivation Among Rural Communities for Sustainable Income Generation” funded under Himachal Pradesh Forest Sector Reforms Project (HPFSRP)-Big Good Idea Fund (GIF)-Theme (1): Mountain Based Farming Systems; to the tune of Rs. 5.97 lacs. for one year (March 2006 to February, 2007). Under this project established four demonstration plots of medicinal plants in different altitudinal zones, representing all the four forest divisions of district Sirmour (H.P.) 1. Sanio Didag (2003 m) 2. Kalath (1252 m) 3. Salani (370 m) and 4. Johron Poanta (390 m). During this project imparted and organized training and demonstration programmes (6 Nos) on ‘Cultivation of Medicinal Plants’ to farmers, SFD’s, NGO’s, VFDC’s and Mahila Mandals etc. A total of 422 trainees were trained under this project.
